Black&White and Split Tone

For this image of a cobble hallway, I changed it to greyscale using the HSL/Grayscale panel's Convert to Grayscale checkbox. From there, I went to the Basic panel and played with several of the sliders until the contrast was punchy enough. I started with Exposure to get the midtones a tad darker. Then, I adjusted the Contrast slider followed by balancing the Highlights and Shadows. Finally, I dragged the White and Black slider so the image wasn't clipping with the Clarity slider being adjusted to make the image more punchy. The challenge was balancing the contrast with not losing the details in the dark hallway.

For this second image, I tried out Split Toning. To do this, I converted the image to grayscale like I did for the first one (Convert to Grayscale checkbox in the HSL/Grayscale panel). After, I went to the Basic tab and adjusted the Exposure, Contrast, Highlights/Shadows, White/Blacks, and Clarity. Then, I went to the Split Toning panel. I held alt while selecting my Highlight hue to see what the full saturation would look like. I landed on a teal hue, then adjusted the Saturation amount so the picture wasn't overly vibrant but still popped. Then, I changed the Balance value and did the same for my Shadows. I chose a violet hue since it paired well with the teal. After that, I went in with the Adjustment Brush and darkened the shaded wall of the building and lowered the white value on the windows that were a bit overexposed.
